Sally Mair - Loving life

Not a church

This window in Debenhams always pleases me. It's at the back of the ground floor, and was moved there after Debenhams bought the building in the '70s. The building used to be the Conservative club and planets insisted that the window and staircase were moved and preserved. The building next door, which also belongs to Debenhams, used to be the Liberal Club and part of the old library there is still intact in the shop too. A very strange concept and worth a look - welcome to Edinburgh!
Today was C's birthday so it started with a Turkish holiday style breakfast of fruit including slices of water melon. Presents were largely themed towards our holiday next month. We went out in time for lunch and speed at the Rouken Glean garden centre by Bo'ness where I got some pea and sweet plants. We then went to the wee restaurant in the car park next door which was a complete and delightful surprise. Very good food and friendly staff. We'd seen it often but been put off by the outside appearance, which is a bit like an industrial unit. . but it was well worth a visit. They also have a small delicatessen section. When you travel from Edinburgh, it's the same turning as the garden centre, but it's the building to the left with its own car park. We'll be back.
This afternoon A came over to see her dad with Marvin the pug. We had a lovely visit, then more visitors after tea.
A good day.
