Oh Happy Day!

I have been hearing the kuk, kuk, kuk call of the Pileated Woodpecker since we moved here last March, however, I have rarely seen one. And then today, this male landed on the deck railing and hopped onto the suet feeder. I was delighted and surprised. Jeff handed me the camera and I managed ta few captures before he flew off. I love these large birds that remind me of a pterodactyl.

In the afternoon, Kendall and Sue joined Bella and her parents for an Easter Egg dyeing party. Kendallishere's posted her photo of Bella. Easter egg dyeing was a big part of my childhood Easter traditions.
