Wake Robin

The First Days Of Spring

Uprooting the dreams
of yesterday
time sows the seeds
of tomorrow.

And clouds shed tears
of April rain
as winter wanes
and warmth abounds.

Fleeing far flung
sanctuaries
migrating birds
start heading home.

And on the winds
of open sky
caterpillars
try new found wings.

Wild trillium
and daffodil
usher in the
first days of spring.

And tulips flaunt
their waxen bells
atop stems of
emerald green.

~ Emile Pinet

In the green space behind our house, Jeff found this lovely Trillium, a delicate and delightful sign of spring found in damp and shady places.

Did you know there are 50 species of Trillium? Neither did I!

We are seeing many birds around the pond and green space. In the extra is a capture of a Red-Breasted Sapsucker. I have seen several in the trees this spring. So fun to see new species and learn about them!
