The Boudoir

Not ours at home, I hasten to add, but the charming, quirky one we are staying in in the Italian town of Lucca, about 40 minutes by bus from Pisa.

Lucca is a a very attractive medieval city with the original walls still intact. We got here this afternoon in time to explore the part of it immediately around our B&B, which is right in the heart of the city. We've just enjoyed a meal sitting outside in the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, so named as it's on the site of the old Roman amphitheatre and consequently oval in shape rather than actually square.
