Terceira, Angra do Heroismo

I love this blue church. I love the architecture of this beautiful little capital of Terceira (the third largest island of the Azores.)

You may notice from my photo that the rain was torrential.

Our walking tour was in serious downpours. We visited the slippery but lovely botanical gardens. We dropped into the Cathedral. We had some respite in the lovely palace.

The rain got worse. We bailed out for a coffee (skipping the museum).

I’d seen this church on a previous visit, so I headed through the rain to see it again.

In the afternoon we had some blue sky. Lovely to simply enjoy, potter around the deck and look at the green countryside.

There was a planned, serious uphill hike but I’d decided against it even before the heavens opened.

Tomorrow we sail onto Graciosa.....
