Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2019 Thursday — Windy Weather

We took the three pups for a walk late in the afternoon; it was quite windy and getting colder as the evening approached. Several times we sat and just watched the waves and a couple of skilled surfers.

Our pups are getting older, so they do better at sitting and resting. In the past 2 months our Max has gone blind in his right eye. His left eye is seeing images, and we’re putting 4 different kinds of medicines in his eyes three times a day to save his left eye. Since the first of the year all three dogs have had medical issues. It’s heartbreaking. We’re not ready to say goodbye to any one of them yet. Max and Mitzi are 10 and 1/2 years old and Chloe will be 9 years old in June.

I spent a portion of this day preparing for next Tuesday’s classes and getting my handouts ready and then I submitted them by email to be photocopied. Eight weeks and this semester is over. Next school year I will only teach autumn semester. I’m going on what’s called “reduced load.” I’ll work 50% of my normal load, but get full benefits. So, I am going to work 100% for the autumn semester and 0% for next spring and retire in June of 2020. So technically I will stop teaching in December. Once I made the decision to do that, it has been difficult to be motivated to teach. I’m ready to be done.
