Wednesday Woodland

A lovely day for a walk in the woods, albeit it turned out to be a ride on Morrigan.

The main road through the village is being patched and resurfaced over two weeks, to repair some depressions in the road that have given a rollercoaster feel to driving home for some years.

The diversion from one end of the village to the other is approximately thirty one miles, and as you can imagine everyone and their brother is ignoring the diversion and resorting to the back roads.

For the most part these are little more than single width tracks, and often dug with deep ditches on either side. Those ditches are currently filled with at least three cars and a van. There may be more.

I suspect the driving test is easier than it was when I took it, because plainly many people don't understand the term 'passing place'. Or indeed 'give way'. Or how expensive wing mirrors are...

The bluebells are starting to come out, but as you can see they're not quite ready yet. I will return. If the roads are clear.
