The Mighty Magnolia

A trip to the arboretum gave me an ample selection of photos for today. I went with the magnolia, partly for its beauty but partly because my school used to love using the metaphor of a magnolia, opening and blooming with age, reaching full potential in the sixth form. Although, by that rate, my potential would be long dead by now. Probably fairly accurate actually.

It was nice to go, I think. I got rather fixated on stepping at every opportunity, in order to get the 10,000 mark but that stress aside, the environment was lovely.

I say that...there were a number of OCD situations: children wiping their muddy hands onto mine, being taken through muddy rope tunnels and, perhaps worst of all, the discovery of nits in one of the children’s hair! (Much disgust, a trip to the pharmacy and some showers later, we were actually all found to be clear - phew!)

I’m bad enough at loving others at the best of times but, in these situations especially, I’m terrible. I definitely need to ask the Holy Spirit for help there. Hooray that I’m saved by grace!
