Peacock
After spending the day in Stonehaven, I travelled up to Aberdeen on Sunday evening. Monday started dry and relatively bright, so I decided to take the bus up to Hazelhead Park and wander around there for a while.
Hazelhead Park has, among other things, two wonderful rose gardens, but it was a bit early in the season for them. However I did visit the 'mini zoo' (aka Pets Corner) and spent an enjoyable time watching the alpacas, Shetland ponies, various species of goats, etc. and this rather magnificent peacock. Unfortunately, during my visit he didn't display his wonderful tail feathers, so a portrait of his head will have to do.
In the afternoon, I visited Duthie Park and the magnificent David Welch Winter Gardens (note to self: avoid the school holidays next time!) before returning to the city centre and a wee wander round the murals. 16,000+ steps already today, still some distance from yesterday's utterly ridiculous 24,500 total. Planning a lazy evening!
