Silver Birches at Patchings

I spent the day at Patchings Arts Centre at the Connected2019 exhibition with presentations from three very good speakers: Sam Gregory, Tim Allott, and possibly one of the last from John Blakemore. I note from his website that he is putting his entire collection of prints up for sale, and he is 82.

Between Tim and John I took the opportunity to visit and walk round the Patchings Monet Pond (see extra). The water lilies should cover the pond by June. On the way to the pond, I saw these silver birch gleaming white against the woodland.

It was cheering to see my three prints mounted, framed and on display. Pat, who is a mainstay of Patchings and was serving the teas and coffees, asked me to point them out to her.

Someone has bought one of Alan H's photos. It would be nice if someone bought one of mine, but I must be realistic.

I followed Mrs Google's instructions to get to Patchings via the M1 but MUCH prefer the route via the A46. Pat told me that they never use the M1 north of Junction 21, unless having to go north, in which case they find an alternative route.

Sneezing all day and with my nose running like a tap, I supposed I was developing a cold that got worse as I drove home. I have never seen the trees and hedgerows so heavy with blossom. Once home, Len diagnosed hay fever, and I think he may be right.
