Preston Station

Day return to Preston on the train to visit Jessops to get my camera fixed. This station is one of Simon Jenkins' best stations in the NW, he awards it 3*.   Lots of the old features have been retained and painted. It is a fine station. I got there later than expected having discovered that the first train from Oxenholme ( my local station) was not until 11:30 on a Sunday. They obviously like their lie-ins up here!  Simon Jenkins awards 4* to Carlisle and 5* to Liverpool Lime St. More train trips to be planned.
