Presentation at St John’s

Dear Diary,

I went into Cambridge to the Society of St. John the Evangelist Monastery for a presentation, The Gift of Growing Older. It was lead by Brother Curtis. It was a wonderful 3 hours exploring the challenges and invitations of growing older in contemporary society which places such a premium on youth. There were so many wonderful moments during the presentation but one that illicited laughter from the audience was when Brother Curtis talked about finding ourselves in a place of sadness, frustration or anger. Tell yourself, he said, “This is not a ditch I want to die in.” Some extras of the monastery garden and church interior.
