Rhubarb cake

I spent some time clearing the patio this morning, as the days of "sitting out" are hopefully approaching.  Meanwhile W baked a lovely rhubarb cake.

We had some friends round for afternoon tea and to talk gardens.  They moved house about 18 months ago.  The intention was to "down garden", but they ended up buying a house with quite a large, overgrown garden that they are gradually bringing under control.  

They brought a lovely campanula plant for us, and after eating some quiche and cake, we were also able to persuade them to take some more cake away with them, thus saving us from ourselves.
