Calgary Beach and Treshnish Point
The wind dropped during the night and the rain more or less disappeared making today much nicer for walking.
We headed out to Glengorm and did a decent walk through the Forestry Commission land back to the castle estate. Saw great piles of timber (first extra) which turned out to be diseased larch trees. There's an art to stacking the trunks for sure. After lunch at Glengorm we went over to Calgary Beach from where I took my main photograph of Treshnish Point. This is where Blipper Treshnish posts many of her wonderful images. And my second extra shows Flora after her first experience of the sea.
The sun has been shining most of the day and it feels a lot warmer. The views from Glengorm and Calgary were fantastic with Coll lying low on the horizon and tantalising glimpses of the Western Isles beyond. We could see Rum, Skye and I think also distinctively-shaped Eigg.
Eating chez nous again tonight & I'm sure an evening stroll will happen.
