On the road to My Son
Top day cycling. My Son is the site of Vietnam's most extensive Cham remains. The temples are mostly destroyed by time and by war but are still pretty dramatic. However, our 45km bike ride to the site was actually the highlight of the day. We picked up the bikes in the old quarter and headed down to the ferry (not really my pre-conceived idea of a ferry but a boat nonetheless which transported us, our bikes and many many other people and scooters to the other side of the river). From there we cycled through villages and backroads like this one all the way to My Son. A really great way to see more of Vietnam than just the main tourist destinations.
