Bags, cones and a coffee percolator!

Well today turned out well, in spite of a three minute shower when we were erecting the gazebo in Station Square this morning. The various people staffing it were handing out litter pickers and bin bags, though when I called by after lunch there hadn't been a huge number of requests. I think that our base at Rockfield did better.

The sun shone for most of the afternoon as this picture shows. There were five of us at the Black Lynn, though one left before the picture was taken and the fifth member of the team had disappeared completely, along with his litter picker, so I don't know where he went! We had our free coffee and cake from the nearby Bridge Cafe and collected six or seven bags of rubbish, largely bottles and cans, and three traffic cones, as well as miscellaneous other objects including a coffee percolator!

We also retrieved a Tesco trolley from the water - staff will be surprised to see such a muddy object in their trolley park! I'm not sure how things went generally, but I'm sure a great deal of good will have been done.

More tomorrow!
