The old and the new!!

A trip into London to meet up with old nursing friends.

It was a bit of a shaky start!!! I should have got the 10.17 train out of Newark, but it was sitting behind a broken down train up north somewhere!! We were allowed to get on a train running 70 minutes late, but I was warned that I would probably have to stand for the 90 minute journey .....no, I found a seat.

After we eventually all met up at Liverpool St Station, we headed for the Gherkin for lunch. The views were spectacular and the food most enjoyable.

As is the norm for us, we investigated buildings, side streets and items of interest as we returned to the station. I’ve put some scenes in extras. I had planned to blip a view from the top of the Gherkin, but loved these buildings in St Helen’s Place with a view of the Gherkin behind.

The journey home was speedy and uneventful, thank goodness.
