Repas au Restau
Today, in terms of French days, was a busy day.
Woke up for a morning Skype.
At 10.30 I headed to Librarie Laique to meet a lady about giving her daughter English lessons. Showed her an example of what I've been doing with Eloise (my 3ieme pupil) and she seemed pleased so I'll be starting with my second pupil on Wednesday, very exciting!
Next went to Lidl for boring house supplies and to get a few things for baking this weekend. Met Hati and Dom at the market to get some food for the Christmas meal tomorrow and decided that we'd go for coffee and a catch up. Decided we wanted to play darts so headed off to Buddy Mulligan's which was unfortuately closed. After doing a few errands we decided to go to Super U as I needed to go and buy a few things so passed the afternoon in the supermarket. Only in France could this be a fun day out.
Went home for a couple of hours to do more washing and then met Hati and Dom to play some darts (which I won, very pleased although more than likely a fluke!) Hati and I had the meal with the English teachers in the evening so we headed off to the very posh looking restaurant. I had such a lovely evening and it was amazing to be able to chat and understand in French with the back up of English if we got stuck. The college teachers have been really welcoming (even if they did mock my pronunciation of macaroon!) and I really enjoyed making them laugh with the things we find bizarre about Le Puy. The food was amazing, if a little bit try-hard, but with 7 courses I was hardly complaining! Such a lovely evening.
