Wet, wet, wet
A very, very rainy morning in Valetta and a grey drizzly afternoon Paola.
We escaped the downpour with visits to the Armoury (not a patch on what we have in Leeds) and the Cathedral of St John. The cathedral is very bling but also has two Carravaggios which are well worth a visit. We punctuated the morning with a mocha and a cake at a fabulous cafe.
The afternoon was a visit to the Hypogeum, which is an utterly amazing underground burial complex carved into the rock during the stone age. It's booked solid till May but we got a couple of the coveted late release tickets. Expensive but worth every penny. We came back via Marsaxlokk an interesting seaside place, but it was drizzly and too early for the restaurants to be open. So we didn't stay.
We're back in the hotel and are going to eat here. The forecast for tomorrow is much better.
