Grey But Delightful
I’ve had two full days at home since my last trip and it’s been dark and grey both days. I’m afraid I got stuck into projects at home and shopping yesterday and I didn’t make time to go on any walks. I knew I had to get out today, especially since I was going to be back in a dry stuffy plane this afternoon. So I headed down to the lake at about 9 this morning. It’s lovely there even when it’s grey. And this swan kept me company. There seem to only be two swans on this lake right now and I saw the other one guarding what looked like a new nest. Hopefully we’ll have a whole family of swans soon! While I was at the other side of the lake this same swan was entertaining me as he dived for food - see Extra photo.
We’ve had some strong winds in the last few days and I’m not surprised that there were some trees down. It looked like some had already been moved and cut up, but as I left the lake a work party had just shown up so I think they were going to deal with the others. There was a tree partially down and floating in the water right by one of my favourite spots. See second Extra photo.
