Walking along the Coffin Route from Grasmere to Rydal we spotted a heron across the pond. We stood and watched as it remained motionless. We were beginning to think it was a fake plastic one when it turned it's head. 

Even on maximum zoom the heron was still going to be tiny so I decided to photograph the scene with the cottages. 

If you like frogs and have a large computer screen I've added an extra. I counted 14 pairs of eyes.
