I made a promise today ........ that I wouldn't get my camera out until we reached the top of Gowbarrow Fell. My OH doesn't like stopping and starting when we're out walking. I broke it twice (the promise, not the camera). However the early photos looking towards the south end of Ullswater and into the sun weren't as good as this taken much later when we stopped to finish our lunch. There's a lake steamer coming out of Howtown Bay. 

I last walked up here when I was about 20. That's a long long time ago. Think I'll just stick to the Aira Force section of it in future.
