A welcoming smile,
High tea and festive nibbles,
In a caring home.

It was the annual Christmas tea at the residential home where my Dad lives. All the residents and family and friends get together for convivial chat and to enjoy the wonderful spread provided by the staff.

I bless the day we found this place for my Dad as it truly is a caring home. It's in a rambling, extended Edwardian house with slightly faded (but clean) glory. The food is always wholesome and home made and the staff are very caring and friendly. At this event, staff who were on their day off came to help and join in as well as others like the hairdresser who does the residents hair. It really felt like a family party.

This is a picture of Michelle, who is one of the two managers who run the place. She is possibly the calmest and most unflappable person I know. She always wears a long black skirt and a black top and seems to float round the place emanating tranquillity. Her smile is always ready and is genuine, as hopefully this picture shows.

Thank you to all the staff at Nightingales for caring and taking care of my Dad.
