No mistaking that gaze
I was making photos at the International Women's Day march, and these two were so completely absorbed in each other, they didn't even see me making this photo, and I didn't want to break into their reverie to ask permission.
It was pouring rain the whole day, but an indomitable group of about forty people showed up, read statements from women in six or seven countries, and marched about 7 blocks to end their event at the riverside. The organizer and leader was Alyssa Pagan, who has often featured in this journal. Spirits were high and the feeling of solidarity was palpable. Mind you, solidarity with forty people is not exactly critical mass. But if they are forty really splendid comrades, it's not bad. Extra is more of what you'd expect for this day, but I'm a sucker for the look of love.
