Tam Ky to Quang Ngai

Day 2 of our cycle ride through Vietnam. The day began with an hour in the van from Tam Ky to Chau O Town. From here, we headed towards the coast to start our ride on country roads through Sa Ky fishing village to My Lai, the site made famous by the massacre of 504 locals during the Vietnam War. The memorial was incredibly moving and sobering. Leaving there we cycled through more villages until our guide pointed to a pagoda up in the hills saying "that's where we're going". 3km winding uphill was very testing and we were hoping it would be worth it. It was. The temple and the pagoda were stunning and many families were visiting as it was a special day in the Buddhist calendar. This is apparently a poem about the history of the site.
