The winners

I helped referee a 7 aside schools rugby tournament today and was delighted, if a little apprehensive, to referee one of the finals. A very close game, won by this team with the only try of the match well into the second half.

The young bucks certainly give us pensioners referees at bit of a runaround on a full size pitch. Having a gap of an hour between each pair of pool games didn’t help. Neither did waiting 2 and a half hours for the final. It took me 30 minutes to warm up and get the muscles to cooperate with the brain all for two 7 minute halves.

Had a good warm down after dinner, while Susan was out at guitar I walked nearly 5 miles around the darkened streets of Bearsted.
