Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N

The point of our trip was to visit Avengers Station - The Boy’s Christmas present (Eldest’s Christmas present was Kaiser Chiefs tickets).

We were up early for a cracking breakfast. Then MrRoly walked us through Rotherhithe to pick up the tube to the O2 to catch the Emirates Airline over the Thames. Awesome. Then DLR to the Excell on the coveted front seats!!! All this before 9.30.

Coffee, toilet stops and into Avengers. We’d read the Trip Advisor reviews and managed our expectations accordingly but actually all really enjoyed it! We were the only there for a while which helped as we had free run of everything and could chat to the actors involved.

Once finished, we headed out to Harrods. The older 2 could remember the food halls from a trip many years ago so we wanted to take the younger 2. Only it’s all changed and was very disappointing. We rode the escalators, bought expensive sweets and hot legged it back to Paddjngton.

Dinner at various eateries on the station then the obligatory wander up the platform to rub Paddington’s nose before getting back on our train - again successfully dodging bus replacements. After a cold wait at Truro, we were home by 11.00 after an awesome weekend.
