Cuenca

After about 4 hours on a slow train, we arrived in Cuenca, which is about 1000 metres higher and 10C colder than Valencia.  Our hotel - a Parador - is a 16th century monastery, built on one side of a deep gorge, with the historic town on the other side, accessed via a footbridge.

My late afternoon walk around the old town was cut short by torrential rain (also hail and sleet) from which I sheltered in a church.  The reflective streets after the rain were a bonus.
