1-2% chance of a re-bleed

Rafi had another haemorrhage yesterday. I came down in the morning to find that fluid had leaked out from his drain and his condition was deteriorating. Scans showed he had had another bleed, so he went straight to theatre .
I was told that he may not survive and had an agonising 6 hour wait to find out that the operation had gone better than expected. 2 surgeons had also managed to tackle the abnormal veins that had been left due to Rafi becoming unstable during the first surgery. The surgeon said that they had removed most if not all of the remaining abnormal vessels.
Rafi was brought off the sedation this morning and he already has his eyes open ( albeit a little dazed looking)
He is a fighter to survive these two massive operations, so we have to stay strong and positive for him.
