In the Air Tonight

Today was probably the last day of our February Summer so I decided to make the most of it and go across the moor to Merrivale for the walk out to Foggintor Quarry. It was very misty at home again but not a cloud in the sky here, apart of course from the swaling, the controlled burning that seems to be happening all over the moor at the moment.

The theme for Wideangle Wednesday (hosted by BobsBlips) is 'In Air/Sky' and the connection in my photo is the television transmitter mast on North Hessary Tor, standing196 metres high. It's just a short way from the flooded quarry and you can see it on the skyline. At the other end of the image you can see the ruins of the quarry buildings.

My image is 8 portrait images stitched into a panorama, 4 above and 4 below. With all those pixels, I wouldn't be surprised if you could see the UHF waves reaching out from the mast.

It was a lovely day and as Marian was out TK Maxxing with a friend, I took a sandwich with me at sat out in the sunshine with my lunch. A very enjoyable day, I hope the nice weather soon returns.
