With their consent

Tonight was our final peer review meeting of the year. We were always a disparate group; originally there were five of us, with others who came and went over the years. When first I left the particular DHB for solo practice, I asked to remain a part of the group, and was accepted. Subsequently we all moved to new positions (one to Canada, so now there are four), only for one to move back to the original position he had when we started this group. We four continue on, with official College approval.

We meet once a month in GPK of Ponsonby, on Ponsonby Road. The staff are welcoming of us. They know why we are there, and they ensure that we get a table which is relatively (for a busy restaurant) quiet and private. They never hurry us, even though we spend so long talking that the ordering of the meal takes longer than many diners are there.

We find that this is a valuable time for giving/getting support in difficult situations, leading/being led to answers that one always really knew, and challenging each other's assumptions and decisions.

The young lady who looked after our table was pleasantly cooperative in agreeing to use the wee compact I had with me. My friends consented to being blipped. We will be back again in the New Year.

This is another view of another aspect of my One Street
