A Grand Day Out

As D was working all of half term, he took a day off today so we made the most of the beautiful weather and took the train into London. We got the train to Liverpool St then tube to St Pauls. This may sound like a fairly mundane journey to most but it was a pretty big deal for me as I've probably been on 2 train journeys in the last 20 years and I've managed to avoid tubes since 1998.
We walked over the bridge to The Tate Modern. There certainly is some amazing stuff in there, some of it very weird. Call me a philistine but my favourite exhibits are those by famous artists like Picasso, Matisse and Dali. I get a bit star struck.
We walked along The South Bank and found a lovely Italian restaurant near Covent Garden. After a wander around Covent Garden we got the tube to Bank and walked the short distance to Liverpool St and the train home.
We had such a lovely day, I feel like I've achieved a lot and I reckon I've earned a glass of wine this evening.

Extra is D doing an impromptu photo shoot for a bunch of Ladies on a hen party. I can’t take him anywhere!
