A bird's eye view
It's been a long, but fun day today - blip buddy Shoemum and I caught the 9am Eurostar to London, and met up with friends at the champagne bar in St Pancras station before heading off to the South Bank and lunch at the OXO Tower.
Our lunch came and unfortunately 3 of the meals had to be returned as they were undercooked. The staff couldn't do enough for us and within minutes returned to tell us that those meals would be deducted from the bill, and they gave us all a free glass of wine and olives. The service they gave us and the freshly cooked meals more than made up for the error, and we came away saying what fantastic service we'd had. I'll definitely go back again if I'm ever in London.
After lunch we walked back along the South Bank through the German Christmas market, and then decided to buy tickets to go on the London Eye. It was just going dusk when we got on it - the light and the view was wonderful, and by the time we got off it was almost dark.
I'm really pleased with the photos I took from inside the Eye considering we were so high up and with the lighting conditions. It was hard to choose which one to blip, but I particularly like this one of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben with the setting sky.
The time passed so quickly and in no time at all we had to head back for our return train. We left on time, but got held up at the tunnel and didn't get home until nearly midnight. So it's a quick blip and time for bed, and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.
