Pyramid

I was doing some product photography today. Mark, who has his own cabinet-making business, works next door at The Wood Workshop and this is a commission he has just finished.

A complex set of draws, in that they are made to fit into a square-based pyramid. That means each drawer has inwardly sloping sides.

This one is made from contrasting woods: walnut (Black American for the back and sides, Cumbrian for the drawer fronts), rippled sycamore for the handles and peak then a small piece of thuja for the top triangle. Then all the draws have a rich green suede lining.
