ukranian ushanka

Cold tonight- . I used to wear an old East German fur hat (or ushanka) but it never really fitted my big head. Then in the summer in a heatwave I happened on an army surplus store in Newcastle and saw some fur hats in the window with Ukranian cap badges on them rather than the usual Russian red star. So I bought myself one, as you do in a heatwave.
It's rather cosy but I do hope that's artificial fur (the East German one was certainly artificial).
