Adios Gran Canaria
We all wanted to stay for at least another week so brilliant has been this Gran Canarian escape! Thank you Laura, Chris and your boys for being such great company!
The photo shows Gran Canaria in 27 degree heat and Mt Teide on Tenerife in the distance.
The return of the hire car was a smooth one with no unexpected extra charges!
All week I had been looking for postcards without any luck. I was certain there would be some at the airport. I was wrong. “The postcard home” has been all but extinguished by the ubiquitous social media post. (There were a few very expensive migraine inducing 3D cards that nobody was buying. What has happened to all those post cards by Dixon et al I wonder?)
The southerly tail wind whizzed us home in 4 hours 6 minutes!
We had not yet used the new international UK Border arrivals at EDI. The new signage there indicating U.K. and EU was an optimistic omen, hopefully?
The E-gates were not working and I was “a reject” and had to queue up to be let in by a human! My wife was let in by the AI!
