The Warmth from the South

This time last year we were in the grip of 'the Beast from the east'. This year couldn't be more different.  I took a walk around the local area to enjoy the sun and the warmth; so unusual for February.

I came across these crocuses in a local cemetery.  They were a vibrant carpet of colour, competing with the shop bought flowers adorning the graves.  To cap it all the local bee population were out in force collecting pollen.  Not sure I've ever seen that happen so early in the year before.  I did capture some of the bees in flight, but critical appraisal said they weren't quite in focus, despite repeated efforts.
