Today we went to Peebles where Mr Rat ran the parkrun (came 5th in his fastest time for ages) and then along the river to the Glentress Centre whilst I ran the Glentress Half Marathon.
It was warm (13-14C) with hazy sun and we could actually see the views this year. It's the toughest half marathin I've done as it climbs a total of 725m (or there abouts) with lots of ups and downs - including when you think you're heading down.
2 brief pauses for pics, this from the highest point nearly 2/3 of the way through and an added bonus of winning the FV60 category again and being nearly 7 mins faster than last year (though no snow and ice this time which accounted for part of it).
3 days ago my legs didn't want to run so I started out with no expectations - maybe that was the key!
