I said at work about visiting the care home and taking some flowers; incredibly kindly they donated all the daffodil bunches that had begun to open, which was about 45 bunches. The residents loved them, there was enough to fill every vase and pot I could find, so all the dining tables and occasional tables in the different lounges had fresh flowers that smelled like spring.
Robert, who was a friend of my Dad’s, also came to see Jeanie, and brought his little dog Tinker with him. Tinker is such a sweet little dog, who enjoyed lots of fuss from residents and carers alike. Jeanie gradually became more with it, she didn’t speak, but she mouthed “Hello” a couple of times to Tinker. Once back inside, Keith made tea in the tiny bone china tea set, and as last week, she drank two cups, and ate two cakes as well.
Back home, and Selena made pizzas for dinner, which went down well.
