Going To Work on an Egg

I should get out more. At least these eggs are a viable alternative to another blip of the ubiquitous crocuses, beautiful as they are, in full bloom, covering every inch of the verges around the Dower House.
In fact these eggs are not just any eggs, not even M&S eggs, they are Gosford eggs, from the estate of the same name in East Lothian. I am expecting great things from them- freshness, deep yellow yolks and a specially delicious taste. We’ll see.

In fact I was out this morning, lugging some of His Lordship’s belongings to the local Marie Curie charity shop, hoping to boost their coffers for their work in supporting cancer sufferers and their families. HL and I were extremely grateful for their help in the last few weeks of his life when he got very poorly.

I must be feeling my age when I had to leave a get together with neighbours over a glass of wine in the local wine bar because it became so noisy when the office workers descended for an end of the week letting down of their hair.
I’ve always found it hard to hear and speak above a hubbub in a pub or bar and it is becoming more difficult. I felt I was having to shout to be heard.

If you miss looking at crocuses, I couldn’t resist posting them as an extra!
