The Kelpies

We spent the morning in Glasgow with a walk round Pollok Country Park and a visit to Pollok House.
This afternoon we visited the magnificent Kelpies at Falkirk. They represent working heavy horses which were much used in the past in what used to be a very industrial part of Scotland. We’ve driven past them many times but are glad we stopped for a look today.
The designer was Andy Scott and both sculptures have a total of 38 000 pieces. The whole project took 8 years in the planning and 16 weeks to build. Well worth a visit.
