This indian town is full of surprises- in the middle of all the noisy traffic, and the svarm of people, cows, food, dust and garbage, you suddenly drop into another wold of old trees, plants, spacious and peaceful surroundings. It is the university area I am talking about, I go there for my sanskrit class in the afternoon. Today I just had to stop by this old banyan tree which is considered holy by the hindus, the leafs being the resting place for the God Krishna.

In the Bhagavat Gita Krishna says "There is a banyan tree which has its roots upward and its branches down, and the Vedic hymns are its leaves. One who knows this tree is the knower of the Vedas." An allergory to the material world as a tree whose roots are upwards and branches are below...
