Pre dinner drinks

My daughter was taken out by her friend as a birthday treat, although her birthday was at the end of January.  Her boyfriend wanted to do some cleaning and jobs around the house.  This left hubby and I with an afternoon  to wander around the city.   We did some shopping,  new tee shirts for him and new walking shoes for me.  On Thursday evening my daughter won the pub raffle, the prize was a seafood box.  We ate the oysters, but still had lobster, prawns and salmon left.  R decided that he would create a jambalaya.  He made a stock from the shells and prawn heads.  Whilst that was developing we popped round to the pub.  This young lad had drawn quite a crowd.  He played some well known songs plus some of his own songs.  He wasn't bad.  However, it did mean that the only outside table available was on the balcony.  After enjoying a cooling beer we headed home.  The jambalaya was finished off and devoured with pleasure.  Another good day.
