Beautiful lights
Well the last few days have been hectic. I'm still feeling a little under the weather, but that had to be put on hold. We are struggling to find the best way to renew our Visas, we thought it would be simple, but no. We decided that the best thing to do was to visit an Agent. It turns out that we don't have a retirement visa as we thought but on O&A. On a retirement visa you have to pay additional sum to be able to leave the country. An O&A allows multiple re-entries, the catch being that you fill in a form, a TM40. We have never filled in the form, we never knew it existed. It meant that on Friday morning we had to get up very early to go immigration. Fortunately hubby asked a volunteer where we got such a form from and it turned out that we had to go to a different office on the second floor. We were the first people there, joined quickly by a lovely couple from Vietnam. He was telling us about his escape from Vietnam as a 10 year old, he ended up in America but now lives in Thailand. I digress. Once the office opened we were dealt with by a lovely lady who gave us the appropriate pieces of paper to go in our passports. We were also fined 1600bht, or approximately $64 Aussie between us. It was quite funny watching people arrive who we had seen down stairs obviously in the wrong queue, it's not clearly defined.
On Saturday we had a lazy day, only going out for bread and milk. In the evening we went for dinner at our favourite Indian Restaurant where we sat outside under these beautiful lights. I am also adding an extra of a couple who had obviously just tied the knot, I couldn't get a clear shot unfortunately, but I did find it very amusing. I was intending the extra as an entry for Silly Saturday.
