Diversification
Approaching North Berwick from the south one passes Fenton Tower. There’s been a fort here apparently from the 11th century with the shell f current structure dating from the 16th century. King James VI took refuge here once. Oliver Cromwell sacked the tower in 1650.
In recent years it has been restored to provide holiday accommodation.
Instead of the usual sheep such as Blackface there are different varieties and the occasional alpaca. Often when I’ve passed they’ve been in the distance. Not today!
