Icy paths

We walked on solid ice for about seven miles, the sun shone, but it was very cold; it was -5C when we left home, although the temperature did rise a bit during the day. However, we had a wonderful walk. I was very glad of my yak traks, they fit on my walking boots and are like mini crampons and I was able to walk on the ice without any bother. Walkers who did not have them were struggling, and at times falling.

As it was our Christmas walk, we were all attired in Christmas hats, a bit mad really. We had a meal at the end of the walk, and it was nice to relax in the warmth, have a wee drink and a meal, before going home.
