Friday: Union Station
Luckily, Toronto's Union Station is pretty picturesque as it seems to be my go to subject on my day of departure. That, or the obligatory 'flying over the Rockies' picture.
I was in the office briefly this morning before heading out to the airport for my early afternoon flight back to Vancouver. On the flight back I finished Denis Constanduros' double volume, 'My Grandfather' and 'Father, Dear Father'. They were both entertaining enough. That said, they were from the 'Slightly Foxed' special edition range and I'm starting to find 'Slightly Foxed' a little unwavering in its authors' demographics (i.e. straight white British male of a certain age).
My flight landed a little earlier than expected so I had time to quickly stop off at home to get changed. I was invited to a working dinner at my Dutch colleague's house and had originally thought I would have to go straight there and get changed (I had forewarned him he about that part.....). It was described on the invitation as a 'diner pensant', not a term with which I was familiar. It made me feel very 19th century........
