Reading water

This is close to where we launched most days. This guy is fishing; whenever a wave rolled in and broke across the rocks, he jumped. Amazingly, he landed on his feet each time.

In our surfskis, Dale was trying to get us to see the ripples and swells and runners so that we can begin to actually ride the waves instead of just paddle through them. We've got our homework for Bellingham bay.
