Hey! Ho!
Last day in HK, so after slapping the crepe man about until he produced a hot moist one, it was obvious what sight needed visited. The big Buddha? The peak funicular? Nooo! The Maritime Museum of course. Picking up an iced Americana from the 0% coffee outlet on the way. V.cool. Actually it was iced coffee as the sun was out and it suddenly felt decidedly a bit warm. And me in my 501s. Don’t mention hot and moist.
And the Museum was pretty interesting - a good overview of China and colonialism. We didn’t hang about back then, eh? And more than a few Scots notables in the thick of it. The Frenchies were just as bad! Unbelievable. Indeed.
Right, back to lounge in the sun with the SK who was occupying a double berth in a prime location up on the roof. Off in the limo late afternoon: the driver, an HK local, had attended Merchiston Castle school in Edinburgh for a year (10k a year 30 years ago, he informed us) before studying maths at Cardiff. Neither of us could bring ourselves to ask the obvious question. That’s right, does he miss the weather.
Ok, I’m at the airport. HK €150 in my pocket and Asahi at $69 a beaker. At least we’ll not be taking too much HK currency into Oz then. Let’s Go!!
