Not Oor Wullie - just James

Most Scots will be familiar with The Broons and Oor Wullie, the comic strip pages from the Sunday Post. My parents used to save them up for my daughters. #2 in particular loved them, and probably still gets the Annual, so it amused me to see James on his up-turned pail while digging at the beach after school today.

We were looking after the boys as it was parents’ evening. We did bed-time so that they could go for a drink after it in case Daughter needed to de-stress. James can be a tricky character so she was expecting it to be worse than it turned out to be. They say he is very intelligent so I hope he’ll put that to good use and not just mischief. He told me he’d been kidnapped by a daddy walrus and he played with the baby walrus till its tusks got too long. Then he went home.
